Blake - 22.5 Months

Blake:
  • got his other bottom tooth in so now he has his top 4 and bottom 4 in the front, plus his 1 year old molars which brings his total to 12 teeth. Now we wait for the canines and 2 year molars. He has started putting fingers really far back in his mouth so maybe the molars are making their way, but I haven't looked.
  • has started pronouncing words more clearly. He can say the letter n sound which makes it a lot easier to understand many more of his words. He still has a big tongue so his s sounds are still accompanied by spit, haha.
  • is finally starting to try foods again after getting over his sickness. He's starting to eat some of the foods he used to eat on a daily basis which is good since it's hard to gain weight on a diet of milk, juice, and puffs.
  • is getting into colors a lot more. He's finally making progress on recognizing more colors and even likes to ask "what color this?". His favorite seems to be green and he also knows orange and purple. He still seems to get blue and yellow mixed up sometimes which is strange but maybe it's because he doesn't want to play the color game and he just gives an answer to shut me up.
  • has been adding new words to his vocabulary which are pretty funny. If I ask him a question he'll say "yea, sure" or "yea, of course" sometimes.
  • has become very expressive with facial expressions. He always has been to an extent but he gets the very serious look with the furled eyebrows a lot and will lower his head if he gets too much attention or he wants to be goofy. People at our activities have commented on how different he is from other kids, since he likes to communicate with adults moreso than children his age. He's still more of an observer when it comes to other kids.
  • asks "what's that?" a lot. He is still very curious and wants to know what things are and what different sounds are (even though he knows what they are most of the time).
  • instead of saying "all done", he says "go away" these days. If he's done with food or doesn't want us sitting near him anymore he'll just say go away.

A new game that he liked for a few days that was great for his concentration. He had to put pipe cleaners in a colander.
