- loves Dr. Seuss books. Mimi brought a few down for us that used to be Chris's when he was little and now Blake wants me to read them to him all the time. If I offer to read him a book he goes into his room (where we keep the bedtime story books) and gets a Dr. Seuss book. His favorites right now are The Cat in the Hat Comes Back and Green Eggs and Ham.
- started trying new foods for dinner. He seems to be the most open to trying new meats. He has eating deli turkey (which used to be on the "ok" list), ground turkey, rotisserie chicken, and salmon. It seems like most new foods he tries make him break out for some reason or another so we've just been trying our best to get him to eat food and dealing with the eczema breakouts every few days when he scratches at them too much. :-/
- is still a Daddy's boy. He likes to say "Mommy go away" and sweep his arm side to side to act like he's pushing me away when Daddy is available to play. If I didn't get to spend so much time with him this might hurt my feelings (especially a pregnant mama).
- speaks in full sentences and pretty much talks all the time now. He just talks about everything he sees and things from earlier in the day and whatever pops into his busy little mind. An example: "Hi Mommy, I play with Daddy's blanket". A lot of times he misses connector words; like he says "cat hat" for The Cat in the Hat, but he's starting to pick up some of the connector words here and there.
- he's become a confident climber. All of a sudden one day he decided he wanted to start climbing ladders at MyGym and now he goes up and even down them. The ones at MyGym are at an incline but he'll even attempt the ones at the park that are straight up and down. He even does a good job of making sure he has a good hand hold before moving his feet.
- moved up to the next age group at MyGym. One of his teachers said that he was starting to get good at some of the skills that they do in the next class and could tell that he wasn't fully paying attention in class because it looked like he needed more of a challenge so he moved up to the 23 month to 2.5 year class. It's been great so far because he can learn things from the older kids too.
- loves the ball pit at MyGym. For the longest time he would fuss if I tried to get him to go into it. Now that he sees the older kids jumping in, he seems more interested in it and wants to climb in by himself and even likes trying to walk/crawl in there.
- steps up and down reasonable steps without holding on.
- worried about shadows on the walls. He noticed the shadow that the fan makes when the kitchen light is on and he was very concerned about it for a while. He would say "shadow go away". We tried to explain to him that the light is what caused the shadow so then he said "light go away". Pretty funny boy. He's getting more used to the shadows but he still notices them and points them out.

Playing with his Kindle. He loves the games with Elmo so much that if he wants to play with the Kindle he asks for "Elmo game".
Someone found a comfy little seat while Skyping with Grandmom (gee-mommy as Blake calls her).

Daddy took some pics of Blake and I riding the train. It was all done up for Christmas and Blake loved the lights in the tunnel. We also got to see Santa and Mrs. Claus on the ride.
Because this is a normal position to sit around and drink your juice... he clearly gets his flexibility from his Gessner side.
He's been into nesting cups and he'll do 5 or 6 now before he gets too frustrated and throws the rest.
The sprinkler head is his favorite outdoor toy. When we go on walks he brings it with us.
He always has to stand or sit on the utility covers.
I got him to keep his hood up for a quick second, and showed him where his pockets were. So cute!
