Week 9

This week we finally went to the doctor to see how everything was going, and got our first ultrasound. We asked the doctor a lot of questions about everything that we could expect and what I should be doing to keep the baby as healthy as possible. I'm not sure why I have to be sitting in my paper gown while we asked all our questions but apparently that was the schedule of events. Also, having the doctor do a pelvic exam with your husband in the room is slightly awkward but we made it through.

On a positive note, it was really exciting to finally get to tell the whole family and a few close friends about the pregnancy this week! Everyone has been very happy and supportive which is great. We just have to make it a few more weeks before we can be even more in the clear and continue spreading the news. It has definitely been hard to keep quiet at work with all my bouts of nausea and bloating/gas pains. Hopefully that settles down soon so my belly won't look so big for no good reason.

Now onto the part that made the whole visit worth it, the ultrasound pics! The heart rate was really easy to find (apparently having a full bladder helps but was quite uncomfortable). The doc said everything is looking good and there is one baby in the uterus. Sorry to those of you hoping for twins.
