- picked up a southern accent when we went to Tennessee for Grandmom's funeral. He says down as dayown and ground as grayownd etc. It is pretty cute. I thought it would just be something he said for a week or so but it has lasted much longer.
- likes to build towers and castles with wooden blocks. He never wants to start building by himself, but as soon as I get involved and set up a couple pieces for the base, he tells me to not touch it because he has his own idea of how it needs to be built.
- loves playing video games on the PS3. He has little hands but he still manages to do quite a good job making his little characters go where they're supposed to. There are many times that he zones out and starts watching the other player and forgets to play, but there are other times where he completes a mission and he's waiting on Blake to catch up.
- likes to keep his stuffed animals close. Before bed he takes inventory of all the animals and lines them up. He's gotten a new stuffed bunny each Easter (and he adopted one that Blake got) so his collection is really growing.
- is obsessed with candy. He got some candy for Valentines Day, for Blake's birthday, and a little for Easter and if it is sitting out, he will start freaking out if he isn't allowed to have it. He will normally get a piece after lunch and after dinner (if he eats a good dinner). We've also used candy as treats to work through his constipation troubles.
- can't get enough superheros. We found a handful of books at the library about Marvel superheros, the X-men, and Superman and he has been so excited about them and wants to hear the stories over and over.
- insists on drawing sessions with me. He'll get us each a couple sheets of white paper and get out his box of 48 crayons (he finally got his own box since Blake didn't always want to share) and we fill the paper with anything he wants us to draw. I love how his imagination is so big and he's doing so well transferring his ideas to the paper. He really loves drawing. His favorite thing to draw are rainbows.
- kinda of stutters when he has something really important to say. He'll yell my name over and over to make sure I'm paying attention (Mo- Mo- Mom Mom Mo-...), then he gets so overwhelmed with excitement that he has a hard time telling me what he had to say. He does the same thing with Blake, it'll just be a long run-on name until Blake acknowledges him (BlakeBlakeBlakeBlakeBlake...).
- was so excited to write down his packing list for our road trip to Tennessee. For all of our previous road trips I would pack activities for the boys in a big bin and bring it with us. Most of the time they would play with 10% of whatever I packed. This time I decided to let them each pack whatever they wanted, but it had to fit inside their backpack. They were both so incredibly excited to be in charge of their own activities (although I did help give them ideas). The catch was that we weren't leaving until Friday and they had school on Thursday so they couldn't officially pack until after school on Thursday. Since Blake was worried he might forget something, he wrote out a packing list and he was so proud that he had everything on paper so he wouldn't forget anything. I was really proud of him for writing everything down too!
- has gotten a lot of use out of his new world map. He knows China as the place were everything is made, haha. It's cool that we can show him where places are that he hears about in books, on tv, and just in every day conversation.
- is obsessed with yarn. This is something he spent his birthday money on, and he got a ton of different colors. He uses it to make his crochet chains since he hasn't learned how to hold everything so he can do more complicated stitches. Hopefully he'll share some of his extra yarn with me haha.
- really grew his collection of Perler beads with his birthday money. He loves creating lots of little pieces of art for me to iron and then he adds them to his collection. He's definitely more of a quantity over quality type of kid.
- says "I'm bored" all the time. He has so many activities to do and when I list them all out for him he says he doesn't want to do any of it. Sheesh, kids of this generation are so complicated.
- has become the most obsessed with Clash Royale. It is another place for him to work on his collecting skills. He can open chests every so often and get gold and gems and cards, so he looks forward to finding out what he will get in his chests. Getting better at the game and learning strategies from Chris (who has been into the game for a while) is not nearly as fun as collecting things.

And the final product. The good news is there is room for improvement next year.
The boys got a picture with the Easter bunny at the egg hunt. Brett was VERY unsure at first but quickly decided it was ok since Blake wasn't afraid.
