We're Moving!

A few commonly asked questions about our upcoming move:

Where are you going?
We're moving to Mason, Ohio which is just outside of Cincinnati.

Why did you choose Ohio?
We've been looking to move out of Florida for a while now because it is just way too hot for us here. We've looked into a few places on this side of the country and Chris ended up finding a job opportunity with L3 Electronics doing management in his field of aerospace which should be a great fit. We'll be within driving distance of family in Tennessee and Virginia so we're hoping to see family more often.

What is the timeline?
Chris will be starting with L3 the beginning of October so we'll head up to Ohio shortly before he starts. We're planning on renting for 6 months or so before buying a house so we can have time to really figure out where we want to settle down. We've been keeping super busy fixing up the house and making it look good for the past 3 or 4 weeks which is hard work out in this Florida sun.

Are you excited?
We're definitely excited for this next chapter and just hope the cold isn't too terribly cold. We're not native to Florida and the heat that is here 10+ months out of the year has just gotten to be too much for us. Not to mention that Blake's eczema flares up when he sweats so he doesn't like to go outside. Then, when the evening rolls around and it isn't blazing hot outside, Brett gets attacked by the mosquitoes so being outside here is not good for us (and children need fresh air and open space). We're hoping to be able to spend a lot more outside time once we move, and I'm glad that the boys will get to grow up with seasons like we had growing up. I'm sure it'll make visiting the beach much more exciting during the summers in the future. We're definitely going to miss the boys' preschool and I'm sad to not be able to go back to work with my old coworkers in Tampa, but we have a lot to look forward to!
