- has started getting on his knees while on his tummy. We've been working with him to get used to being on his knees since he would always just spread his knees flat on the floor like a froggy and just fuss when he wanted to try and move forward. I even sat him on our bed and he leaned to the side onto his hands and then his knees and propelled himself forward in a nose dive into the bed... but at least we're showing progress of his desire to move forward!
- started doing some rocking on his hands and knees. It's crazy how much he progresses even within a week's time. He definitely wants to move forward but hasn't figured out how to shift his weight from one arm to the other so he can move one forward. I have a feeling we'll be there soon.
- went to the doctor to get his iron checked and for a couple other things that we didn't really get to discuss because he was very upset at the doctor this time. We found out why... he got his first ear infection. =( Poor boy was inconsolable and was screaming so loud that I couldn't have a conversation with the doctor. I'm not sure if it was the pain or if it was all the new faces and his stranger anxiety is getting much worse.
- went to the pumpkin patch and thought it was pretty interesting. The weather was beautiful this weekend so it was a perfect day for it. Of course it got a little hot towards the end of our stay so we had to cut it short to get Mr. Fair-Skin out of the sun.
- performed sleep training on mommy and daddy. Every night I would put him down around 7 and then between 9-10PM he would start crying and we couldn't settle him or put him back down in his crib, so we brought him into our bed so Mimi would be able to sleep. Of course once he was with us he was fine for the most part. We thought something might be waking him up outside his window but now we're not so sure since he wouldn't even let me put him in his crib last night before going ballistic. He has either sleep trained us or something is bothering him. He's been on antibiotics for a few days so hopefully the ear pain isn't what is keeping him up. It does seem like the antibiotics are messing up his tummy since he has been having a bowel movement once ever 3-4 days and he had 3 in one day. Hopefully this will clear up the ear infection and we'll be onto the next thing soon.
- continues to be a very abusive breastfeeder. He grabs my nose, pokes my eyes, punches my chest, scratches my arms, jerks his head to the side (ouch), and arches his whole body because the milk doesn't come out as fast as with the bottle. I'm definitely concerned with spending more time with him during the days since we'll be doing a lot more breastfeeding.
