Happy 3rd Birthday Blake!

The years seem to be getting faster even though the days are still long, but here we find ourselves with a 3 year old! It is so crazy to think back to when we we brought Blake home from the hospital because he has come so so far from those days. He is definitely a little person with a strong personality that ranges from sweet as can be to stubborn as a mule. Everything he does is done with a lot of emotion though. Maybe it's a toddler thing but always puts his whole self into everything he does, unless he has just woken up... then he just wants to sit and watch tv, drink some milk or juice, and wake up slowly. All in all, I can't say enough good things about this little boy and I'm so excited to see what is next for him.

You never cease to amaze us with your intellect, quick whit, and sense of humor. It didn't seem like you changed much over the past year but looking back it is quite clear just how much you've grown. It was a year of big change since your brother came into our lives but you've handled it much better than we expected. You have such a good heart and your brother is so lucky to have you in his life. Once you figure out how to control your limbs I'm sure you'll do a great job protecting him (and his noggin).

It always made me proud when people we encountered would be shocked to hear that you were only 2 years old and were practically talking like a 4 or 5 year old with all your big words and long sentences. It has been a great help for you to be able to describe what you were talking about since we couldn't always understand how you pronounced things. It's also good to know that you don't seem to let criticism bother you, but instead you take it, move on, and grow.You shock us and make us laugh every day with your comments and questions about life and we look forward to those moments and hope they never stop.
