Water Table

It has been super hot outside lately and since Gymboree is gone there are only so many inside activities (mall playgrounds etc.) left to do. This means we've spent more time inside the house which gets pretty boring even with lots of new inside toys. We decided it was time to get the back patio set up as a space where Blake can play outside more. It is a project that won't be done for a few more weeks but we hope to have a shaded outdoor space that Blake can play with some bigger toys and not feel trapped inside. 

One of the things that he got is a water table. I just recently learned what these are when we went over to a friend's house and Blake loves them! He's been loving bath time lately too because he just scoops and pours water the whole time basically. The water table lets him scoop and pour water almost constantly so it's been a big hit. Since our back patio is still a mess, we've been setting up shop in the driveway. He doesn't seem to mind, and it's been very convenient having the hose right there for refills.

We also got a big shade canopy (Blake calls it the umbrella "ub-uh") to keep most of the sun off and keep it much cooler. We'll be relocating it to the back patio once we get it finished since we don't have much shade back there during the middle of the day.

Yes I realize most of these pictures look the same, but these were taken over an hour's time. It's wonderful that he has a new interest that keeps him entertained for so long. He's gotten much better at his pouring accuracy too!
