- took his first steps on New Years Day! We were Skyping with Mimi and Blake was on one of his tables and to get to the love seat where the laptop was sitting he had to take a couple steps and he just did it. He has successfully repeated a couple times since then, but he mostly is getting much more courage when it comes to speed walking around the furniture. He pretty much turns to his side and walks along the couches with a hand grazing them for support. He'll stand without holding onto anything quite often as long as he has a toy to keep his attention.
- decided it was funny to pee on me on the changing table. Before taking off the old diaper I usually wait to see if the cold air makes him go one last time before changing him. When he seemed good to go, I took off the diaper and said "Don't pee on me" and he got this big grin on his face and he decided it would be fun to get everything in the vicinity all wet and then died laughing. Later that day he did the same thing... shame on me. I was just shocked that he acted like he knew exactly what he was doing.
- has shown that he has a preference for certain toys and he'll look for them. It's pretty normal for him to have a letter link in each hand but sometimes neither are the one he really wants. He'll look at the one in his left hand then look at the one in his right hand and realize they aren't "the one" so he'll look around the living room, drop one in his hand, and crawl and pick up the one he was looking for.
- started dropping or setting down things that are in his hand instead of shaking them until they fly out. He'll even grab things and throw them down to show frustration or boredom. He's definitely getting more control, now we just need to get him holding his bottle and eating finger foods.
- started hiding toys under the couch. He'll get down on his belly and push letters under there as far as he can reach. We're not sure if he's saving them for later or just seeing how far he can push them. We realized this when we kept finding them under there and then caught him in the act later.
- got a chance to explore the main living area a little more. We did a good first round of baby proofing, then let him explore and continued the baby proofing process as he went for things that needed more attention.
- LOVES playing peekaboo. He plays it as much as possible by covering his face with blankets and clothes and towels. He also loves being scared during the game. Chris was jumping out from behind the wall during bath time and Blake would jump and then laugh hysterically. So funny.

It rolled away, I must chase it.

A tunnel! It was too long and scary to go through though.
On day I'll be big enough to play with the basketball hoop.
Reaching TALL for letters.
On my tip toes to get the letters.
Such a fun game.
Banging the cups together, forget building towers.
And throwing them down... destruction is what I do best.
Tickle monster.
Blake loves his Mimi. She gets good smiles out of Blakers.
